Happy New Year to all readers currently in 2006, as well as an early new years best wishes to all still in 2005. I far as I know, it's really the only bragging right the citizens of New Zealand have ... to be one of the first into the new year. Best wishes all.

Just had to relate this story ... I remember calling my parents from the Philippines on New Year's Eve 1989-90 and telling them that I was calling from the ninties. Although it was just past midnight ('90) where I was (Mindoro), it was mid-afternoon ('89) at my family's house. Good times.
